What is COB LED Strip?

The new Unitop flexible COB LED Strips are strikingly consistent in color and brightness. Their unique COB technology enables hundreds of LED chips to be encapsulated in the tiniest flexible circuit board. Combined with a phosphor layer on the LED Strip, it generates a continuous, uniformly bright light line along the entire length. There are no noticeable light spots compared with typical standard SMD LED strips. In our factory, COB LED strip is also called COB flexible LED Strip or FCOB LED Strip. Unitop offers amazing custom service, you can choose your COB LED strip with various dimensions such as PCB width, thickness and etc. Our standard length is 5M/Reel, but you can also ask us to make it longer or shorter as per your projects’ requirements. You can also choose different shapes.
CCT ÉS CRI
Unitop factory manufactures various color COB LED strips. Our standard colors offered are: White: 2700K(2670-2820K), 3000K(2980-3150K), 4000K(3860-4140K), 6000K(6250-6750K). All white LEDs are with CRI as 90Ra. If your projects require special CCT or CRI such as 95Ra or 98Ra, please feel no hesitate to let us know. We also have various color options such as Red(620-630nm), Green(520-530nm), and Blue(455-465nm), we also offer RGB, RGBW, and tunable white series.

Unitop offers various voltage and wattage options for your requests. Our standard voltage is 24VDC, however, we can also offer 5V, 12V, 36V, and 48V COB LED strips as per your projects. What are the difference between different series COB LED strips you have?

Our Basic Series COB strips are with 320chips/M, this series are the most cost-effective version, if you are looking for lowest prices, this can be a good choice for you.

Our Popular Series COB strips are with 420chips/M, this series are our best seller series. The design and prices are coming to a balance point.

Our High Efficiency Series COB strips are with 480chips/M, if you want lowest wattage while maximum lumens, this can be the best solution.

Our High Wattage Series COB strips are also with 480chips/M, if you want the maximum lumens without considering the power consumption. This can be the most suitable solution.

What is COB?

Chip on board (COB) is a method of circuit board manufacturing in which the integrated circuits (e.g. microprocessors) are attached (wired, bonded directly) to a printed circuit board, and covered by a blob of epoxy. By eliminating the packaging of individual semiconductor devices, the completed product can be more compact, lighter, and less costly. In some cases, COB construction improves the operation of radio frequency systems by reducing the inductance and capacitance of integrated circuit leads. Are COB lights better than LED?

COB is also a type of LED, so this question does not make any sense. However COB LEDs have many advantages comparing with traditional SMD LEDs, you can continue read our FAQ as below.

What is the CRI of the COB LEDs which you are using?

Are COB LED strips brighter?

COB LED technology produces a considerably brighter light than traditional LED technology! They’re even more bright than high-density strips. Flip-chip LEDs, unlike SMD LEDs, are not enclosed in a plastic holder, therefore they produce dazzling, constant light from a broader angle. This enables them to generate light from the strip’s sides, which reaches more than 180 degrees. A wider light angle gives you more light, which is important for long-term brightness.

Are COB LED strip dimmable?

How do you pack the COB LED strips?

Our standard COB LED strips packages are:

Normally one reel COB LED strip is 5m, we have also other lengths for different series;
One reel COB LED strip is put into a ESD bag/Anti-static foil bag, also we have put a desiccant inside the bag;
25 reel of COB strips are put into one inner box carton;
4 inner boxes are put into one outerbox carton. So normally one carton will have 100reels COB strips.

How to install the COB LED strip light?

Clean the installation surface.
Measure the length you need to install, cut at the nearest cutting mark. For the remaining strip, weld at the next scissor mark to connect with other connection wire.
Do not pull the whole strip from the back release paper at one time. Do not hard press the LEDs.
Connect strip wire to the driver output side (Positive to positive, negative to negative.)
Connect the driver plug to wall socket.
Switch on and enjoy.
